Suzuki Method

The purpose of Talent Education is to train children, not to be professional musicians but to be fine musicians and to show high ability in any other field they enter.

The goals of Miriam Strings studio are to provide:

  • Private individual instruction for children from age 4 to adult.
  • Bi-monthly group classes for all levels and ages - for playing and motivation.
  • Recital opportunities in the winter and spring.
  • Participation in the "Stringettes" for advanced students.

About the Instructor

Miriam T. Crivaro teaches violin, cello, and viola in the Chester County area since 2001 and has a private studio of both traditional and Suzuki students. Miriam holds a Bachelor of Arts from Immaculata College with majors in History, Accounting, and Music (violin performance), and a Master of Science in Taxation from Widener University.

Miriam is currently the string instructor of Bishop Shanahan High School in Downingtown, PA, a string instructor at Taylor's Music Store in West Chester, PA and has her own private music studio in her home.

Miriam performs as a violinist with the Immaculata Symphony and the Chester County Pops Orchestra. In addition to her teaching skills, her students have performed at the Franklin Institute, Lankenau Hospital, Kimmel Center and various other venues throughout the Chester County area. Miriam is a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas, the Greater Philadelphia Suzuki Association, PMEA and MENC.

Miriam has also completed teacher training in 2003 University of Miami School Of Music Suzuki Institute with Libby Armour, in February 2005 in a Violin Techniques Course and Overview of Suzuki Book 1-6 at the Miami Friends Meeting House with Rhoda Cole and 2010 at The Jacobs School of Music - Indiana University under Mimi Zweig.

Miriam's students have the unique opportunity to perform in a winter and a spring recital for their family and friends. Miriam approach to teaching is to have a special connection with the string instrument through the development of technique, tone and musicality. Miriam enjoys teaching students from age 4 to adult.

Miriam lives in East Goshen Township with her husband Mark, her son Mark, and her daughter Michelle.
